We currently have an opening for a Trail Guide!
Summary: This position not only conducts guided trail rides, but is also primary in the maintenance of Stables equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Ensures all gates are unlocked for trail rides.
• Ensures all horses are accounted for at all times.
• Ensures barn and holding areas are clean.
• Ensures pony ring or pasture are ready for rides.
• Ensures trails are ready for trail rides.
• Mowing, weed eating, fencing and etc. around barn area, trail and fence areas.
• Assists with all and any other departments, and their duties.
• Ensures all water tanks are filled after the last ride and horses are returned to pasture.
• Pastures include: service pasture, general pasture, ring pasture, barn pasture, lookout pasture, peanut pasture, gypsy pasture, point pasture, office pasture, and gravity pasture.
• Maintains a positive attitude towards the Resort and the job being performed.
• Follows all company safety policies, conducts all job duties in a safe manner, and reports all work related accidents immediately.
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other Resort associates to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
• Carries out all reasonable requests by management, which the Associate is capable of performing.
• Knows and demonstrates the Coral Hospitality 3 Steps of Service and the 15 Basics of Service in the performance of daily responsibilities.
• The Resort functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours per day. It may be necessary for employees to adjust their work schedule from an accustomed shift due to business demands.
• Knows and abides by all departmental, Coral Hospitality and Resort policies and procedures.
Other Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to care and feed horses.
• Ability to tack, western style.
• Ability to demonstrate good horsemanship.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
