Regional Chief Engineer

Job Summary:

Coral Hospitality, the Southeast's premier hospitality management company, is seeking a Regional Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance operations at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa, with additional responsibility for Amicalola State Park & Lodge and Unicoi State Park & Lodge. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring all facilities operate efficiently, safely, and in top condition through proactive maintenance and team supervision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee inspections and monitoring of buildings, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures, assign tasks, and optimize team productivity.
  • Collaborate with leadership on annual budgets, prepare cost estimates, and manage vendor bids.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance costs, and utility usage.
  • Lead the development and implementation of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs.
  • Conduct safety training, evacuation drills, and emergency response protocols.
  • Ensure buildings remain secure and all engineering staff are properly trained and compliant.
  • Perform regular walk-throughs and inspections to identify necessary repairs or improvements.
  • Travel monthly to oversee engineering operations at assigned regional properties.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise engineering staff, managing performance, scheduling, compliance, and development in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Ability to make hands on equipment repairs.
  • Support other site Chief Engineers in operations and training

Required Qualifications:

  • HVAC & Refrigeration expertise (strong background required).
  • Certified Pool Operator (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Project management and leadership skills.
  • General carpentry skills.
  • Experience with plumbing, electrical systems, generator controls, and safety compliance.
  • Ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
  • Strong organizational, budgeting, and team coordination abilities.

Education & Experience:

  • Facilities Management certification, or a related field or equivalent hands-on experience. Additional technical education is a plus.

Certifications:

  • Desired:
    • Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
    • EPA 608 Certification
    • HVAC

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift and move items up to 100 lbs.
  • Exposure to varying environmental conditions (weather, mechanical systems, chemicals).
  • Moderate noise level typical of a resort/hospitality environment.
  • Occasional travel to North Georgia locations required.
