Landscaper - Lake Blackshear Resort / GA Veterans State Park

Georgia Veterans State Park / Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club, located in Cordele, Georgia, is looking for an extraordinary Landscaper. 1. campus is comprised of 1,308 acres of pine and hardwoods located on a beautiful 8,800-acre cypress lakefront - Lake Blackshear. Lake Blackshear Resort 10 lake cabins, a full service fine dining restaurant and bar, catering, seasonal food and entertainment lakeside, off site fitness center, conference center, marina with boat rental, and18 hole-golf course. In addition, we offer 82 camp sites (of which many are water front), a pioneer camp area, 3 community shelters and 4 open air picnic pavilions, swimming beach, 3D archery course and a military museum and static military displays of planes, cannons and tanks.

We are managed by the Southeast's premiere hospitality management company, Coral Hospitality.

The Landscaper reports directly to the Golf and Resort Grounds Superintendent and is responsible for the property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance and maintaining the appearance of walkways, lawns, planters, building exteriors, or other grounds features by cleaning, replacing or making repairs as needed. This is a full-time position.

Essential Function of Job:

• Clean & care for buildings, facilities, and exterior of property to ensure they are maintained in a safe and healthy manner.
• Check landscaping, mulch beds, lawn, for cigarette butts, trash, and debris; Sweep all walkways and ensure any trash, debris, cobwebs, etc. are removed from exterior areas of buildings.
• Trim and edge grass in areas that mowers cannot reach.
• Maintain trees and shrubs by trimming and pruning.
• Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, ground covering plants. This includes watering, fertilizing, spraying, mulching and trimming.
• Trim and edge grass in areas that mowers cannot reach.
• Install, maintain, and operate irrigation systems.
• Notify management of any repairs needed (lighting, public areas, parking lot, etc.)
• Sweep walkways and parking lot as needed to ensure clean and safe areas.
• Use power washer, mowers, edger, trimmers, and any other assigned equipment to safely maintain landscape, buildings and walkways.

OPERATING SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will have 2+ years prior experience working as a Landscaper or Groundskeeper in a Hotel or Condominium property or similar environment that requires good hospitality and customer service skills.

• 1-2 years plus verifiable Groundskeeper or Maintenance experience
• Basic knowledge of irrigation systems
• Hands-on experience with a majority of the above duties
